Tattoo FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the procedure for booking a tattoo session?

Sealing a coveted tattoo appointment with Chris isn’t rocket science. All you need is to complete the Tattoo Request Form. Make sure you’re sincere, patient, and most importantly, keep your fingers crossed. Pray that Chris isn’t swamped with work!

What’s the expense associated with a tattoo?

The financial aspect of your tattoo will be clarified during your consultation.

How is the price of a tattoo determined?

Essentially, the price tag of a tattoo is ascertained based on several factors: the tattoo’s size, its placement on your body, design intricacy (including tattoo flash, your own design, custom artwork, realism, solid color, and more), and the prowess of your chosen tattoo artist.

Do I need to undergo a consultation beforehand?

Indeed, a consultation is mandatory for all tattoo enthusiasts prior to receiving the tattoo artist’s approval and the acceptance of a deposit. This consultation is a platform to discuss the design, schedule the tattoo session, determine its cost, estimate the duration, and so forth.

Are you offering piercing services?

Regrettably, piercing services are not on the menu.

Do I need to pay a deposit or booking fee? If so, how much?

A flat deposit fee of $200 is required.

Is the deposit refundable?

No, the deposit is non-refundable. Therefore, it’s crucial to commit to your appointment.

What kind of fruit are you if you were a fruit?

I’d definitely be a pineapple. Rough on the outside, but sweet on the inside!

How soon can I get my tattoo after the deposit is made?

The timeline largely depends on my existing schedule. Typically, we will arrange the date and time of your tattoo session after the consultation and receipt of the deposit. Just remember, my availability may fluctuate; sometimes I’m open for bookings, and sometimes I’m not.

Do you tattoo over scars or birthmarks?

That decision requires a visual assessment of the scar or birthmark.

Do you accept alien currencies?

I’m afraid I can’t accept alien currencies. They tend to be unstable due to the intergalactic exchange rates!

Are you open to walk-ins?

Walk-ins are generally discouraged. There’s a slim chance of success, but I’d advise against it. And please, refrain from stalking.

How do conditions like acne, cuts, or scars impact my ability to get a tattoo?

While it’s feasible to tattoo over scars, they are not all created equal and would require assessment. Ideally, we should be working on clean, undamaged skin. Conditions like acne, open wounds, or abrasions can make the tattooing process challenging, if not impossible, and increase the risk of infection.

Is scabbing or peeling a normal part of the healing process?

Absolutely, there’s no need for panic. Everyone’s healing process is unique, and it’s completely normal if your tattoo forms a scab or flakes.

Can you tattoo my pet turtle?

No, as much as I love turtles, tattooing them is a no-go.

What are the aftercare measures for a tattoo?

Kindly peruse and adhere to my Tattoo Aftercare guidelines. Your tattoo will be carefully bandaged post-session. Beyond that, it’s your responsibility to meticulously follow the aftercare instructions. Proper healing is key to the final appearance of your tattoo.

Is it safe to get my tattoo wet post-session?

For the sake of your loved ones’ olfactory senses, please continue your regular shower routine after getting your tattoo. Avoid immersing in a bathtub or swimming in chlorinated water for at least 2 weeks post-bandage removal. Prevent soaking your tattoo for prolonged periods. Showers are fine, just make sure to gently pat the area dry afterwards.

Can I expose my new tattoo to the sun?

Exposing your fresh tattoo to sunlight could be dicey, so it’s best to keep it covered or apply sunblock.

Is tipping customary for tattoo artists? How much should I tip?

Much like the gratuity you’d offer your server or masseuse, a tip of around 15%-25% for your tattoo artist is often considered acceptable. While tipping isn’t compulsory, it is most certainly appreciated.

What’s the appropriate attire for a tattoo session?

Comfort is key, so don anything you’d be comfortable sitting in for a few hours. Just remember, birthday suits are off the table!

Do you tattoo lettering? Also, do you provide a spellcheck?

I usually encourage my clients against incorporating lettering into their tattoos. Perhaps we can reach a compromise and subtly integrate them into the design, but it’s best to avoid this. A good tattoo should be able to speak volumes without textual interference.

What if unforeseen circumstances cause me to be late or cancel my session?

I can be flexible depending on the situation. Life happens, but if it happens because you’ve been partying hard the previous night and couldn’t get enough sleep, you’d be forfeiting your $200.

Any preparations to make before my tattoo session?

Steer clear of partying. Get a good night’s sleep. Have a decent meal before coming in. Don’t show up intoxicated or under the influence of any substances.

What’s the healing timeline for a tattoo?

Tattoos can require up to 30 days for complete healing. However, the actual time may be shorter if you take proper care and meticulously follow aftercare instructions.
